Weezer to Tour Australia – finally!
For the first time in sixteen years, and only the second time ever, alternative rock heroes Weezer will tour Australia in 2013. Rumours of their return to our shores have teased Australian fans for years, but major promoter Michael Chugg has edged out the organisers of the Big Day Out in bidding war to ensure Rivers and co. will be playing their own headline shows across the country in January.
Nine albums in, they’re going back to where it all began, and will be playing their genre defining and hugely influential self titled debut (colloquially known as The Blue Album) in full, as well as a selection of greatest hits spanning their whole career. The Blue Album launched Weezer into the stratosphere of indie stardom, and boasts such classics as ‘Buddy Holly’, ‘Undone (The Sweater Song)’ and ‘Say It Ain’t So’.
Tickets for all Weezer‘s Australian shows are on sale at 9 am, Thursday July 26th.
