Vance Joy Loves You When You’re Dancing
It always pleases us here at Vulture when we stumble upon a diamond in the rough. We have an unmatchable burning desire to share our latest flavours of the week, month or century. Vance Joy is one of those flavours. Y’all need to stop your effing around and get on board with this Melbournian’s magically magnificent music. He will leave you salivating for more of his titillating serenades with every strum of his guitar. So we are more than chuffed to announce that after a successful support tour with Julia Stone, half of Aussie hippy duo Angus & Stone, Vance Joy is headlining his own run of shows, ‘God Loves You When You’re Dancing’. Coincidentally, his debut EP is of the same name and will be released this March. Perfection at its most purest untouched form.
Joy will be touching down in Brisbane, Sydney and his hometown of Melbourne to deliver us from evil, and send our senses to the heavens with his folky flush of Bon Iver, Paul Simon, Paul Kelly influenced tracks, including his single, ‘From Afar’. The delightfully seducing track sucks you in with its playful acoustic harmony, yet the lyrics underlying story seek to break your heart if you’ve ever experienced an unrequited love.
So before he heads off over to Austin, Texas to showcase his vocal talents at the prestigious SXSW Festival, be sure to suckle his gifts up at one of these shows because before you know it, this boy will filling stadiums and you will be kicking yourself for missing out on such a heaven sent opportunity.
