Tigertown Drop New Single and Announce Tour

May 24, 2012 by Dylan Barfield in Artists, New Music with 0 Comments

Sydney six-piece Tigertown embarked on an impressive 2011, delivering a beautiful debut EP, and captivating audiences with their lush melodies and compelling harmonies. With a new management team, and a second EP ripe for the drop, Tigertown have delivered their newest single offering-‘Lions and Witches’- coinciding with a new video clip and announcing the ‘Age of Winter’ tour.

Garnering widespread praise for their debut release, Tigertown EP, Tigertown received airplay on Triple J and FBi for the standout single, ‘Go Now’. Meandering their way through the expansive jungle of alternative pop, Tigertown’s intimate, honest sound reflects the band’s maturity and ability to write melodic pop that stands out in a nicer way than a dog’s ball.

The band have continually proven themselves as a compelling live act, since their first show in June 2011, selling out the Raval Theatre in Sydney. After touring with the likes of Matt Corby, Husky, Founds, Charlie Mayfair and Emma Louise around the country, Tigertown embarked on their debut headline tour in October 2011.

Twelve months since their first appearance on the music scene, Tigertown are back with their new single-‘Lions and Witches’- a track that makes the most of their many members, with lush harmonies and catchy melodies. Expectations are high after their impressive single release, with their forthcoming EP currently being produced by Jimi Maroudas (Eskimo Joe), and mixing efforts from Scott Horscroft (Little Red, Silverchair). The accompanying video clip, directed by Peter Seamons (Paper Kites), explores a captivating world, not unlike a modern Narnia, perfectly matching the charm and intrigue of the single.

Celebrating their release of ‘Lions and Witches’, Tigertown are bringing their passionate live show to the east coast in June and July on the ‘Age of Winter’ tour.

‘Lions and Witches’ available on iTunes now.
