The Delta Riggs Announce HEX.LOVER.KILLER Tour

February 27, 2013 by Ashleigh Falls in Artists, Latest News, Tours with 0 Comments

Melbourne is known for producing a shitload of rock and rollers – so many, that sometimes our rock-sensitive senses are overwhelmed, and they all blend together into a white noise fuzz of rock energy. However, once in a blue moon a band stands out above the pack. Cue The Delta Riggs, who have been compared to Jet, only better and with a bigger set of balls. The boys are the latest addition to the Melbourne scene to capture the attention of many as they have blasted onto stage at a slew of festivals including Big Day Out, Pyramid Rock and Queenscliff Music Festival, not to mention touring alongside UK’s Primal Scream and NYC’s Devin.

Delta RiggsBut now it is time for these rockers to explode onto their own stages, as they prepare to set off on their own national album release tour in April. The boys have pleased crowds around the nation with their intense live sets as well as their ‘we-don’t-give-a-shit-what-you-think-about-us’ attitude, and the forthcoming tour will see The Delta Riggs in their prime as one of the country’s most enticing live acts. The best part is, they’ll be sharing wares from their soon-to-be-released debut album HEX.LOVER.KILLER for the first time.

Committed to their DIY work ethic, the guys have self-produced their HEX.LOVER.KILLER to perfectly represent their unique combination of dark psychedelia, hostile punk and various other bad influences their mothers wished they wouldn’t hang out with. The album’s first single ‘Rah Rah Radio’ has already ignited the airwaves, with the support of national community radio and youth broadcaster triple j, and they’ve released a bold and pretty hilarious video clip to go with it – not what you’d expect from these surly, sunglasses-inside-at-night rock dogs.

HEX.LOVER.KILLER. will be released on April 12 through The Delta Riggs’ own Rah Rah Radio label. Their national album release tour kicks off on Thursday, April 11 in Brisbane, with triple j favourites Stillwater Giants supporting at all performances.
