Texas Tea- Sohotrightnow!

August 9, 2012 by Lachie Anthony in Artists, Latest News with 0 Comments

Brisbane 2-piece Texas Tea is on the verge of releasing their 3rd LP, an impressive feat for any band. Their first single ‘Heart Says Yes (Head Says No)’ is a toe-tapping, alt-country doozey that will have you hopping on one leg and slapping your ear, if only get the tune out of your head.

Music and fashion styles aren’t too dissimilar, in that both work in cycles, or recycles, and retro chic is so-hot-right-now. Taking a leaf from Lana Del Ray’s limited and questionably talented book, the duo is paying homage to the songsmiths of old and Grandma Vulture is stoked.

Their ‘Cassingle’ (released on cassette tape) starts with an almost recognizable palm-muted twang, before truly Australian vocals drive the song deep into Tamworth, circa 1950.

Vulture recommends this track to those of you facing difficult decisions involving matters of the heart (and/or head), or popping it in the tape player of your Grandpa’s Pontiac Chiefton whilst driving down Route 66.

You can catch Texas Tea on August 17th at Black Bear Lounge in Brisbane for their single launch, or for those of you outside of Brisvegas, Sad Summer Hits is due for release October 12th.
