Tame Impala drop new single ‘Apocalypse Dream’

July 9, 2012 by Felicity Powell in Featured, New Music with 0 Comments

Yes, it’s been freaking ages – two years to be exact – but in October Tame Impala fans will be in sonic heaven, if their new single ‘Apocalypse Dream’ is anything to go by. Dropped this morning, the song is a continuation of Tame Impala’s spacious psych rock sound and featured on the recent teaser clip from the band. The single will be a track on Tame Impala’s upcoming second release – the awesomely titled Lonerism.

Take a listen here:

The album was recorded and produced almost entirely by frontman Kevin Parker in studios, planes, hotels and homes around the world and mixed by the trailblazing Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips / MGMT). Synths dominate Tame Impala’s sophomore LP but we’ll still hear the swaggering guitar lines, bouldering drums and of course Kevin Parker’s distinctive voice. In even more good news, the first official single from Lonerism, ‘Elephant’ will be making its official premiere later this month.

Tame Impala will be appearing at Splendour In The Grass and Parklife festivals, and will be touring throughout Europe and the United States later this year. Lonerism will be out this October through Modular.
