Sideshows and a Single from Metric

May 1, 2012 by Jennifer Down in Artists, Featured with 0 Comments

An Australian tour is on the cards for Metric, with the Canadian indie noblesse announcing a slew of Splendour sideshows. The band last toured here in 2009, where their appearances at Parklife and Melbourne’s Billboard left crowds all hot and sweaty.

Metric’s forthcoming fifth album, Synethetica, is slated for release on June 15.  The lead single, ‘Youth Without Youth’, sees frontwoman and songwriter Emily Haines return to the social commentary of the band’s earlier releases. Dark and synth-fuelled, it’s both a progression from and reflection of previous albums.

In the lead-up to Splendour in the Grass, Metric will appear in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth:

Wednesday July 25 at Perth’s Capitol theatre, Thursday July 26 at Sydney’s Hi-Fi, and Friday July 27 at Billboard in Melbourne. Tickets are available through Handsome tours
