Reef Announce Aussie Tour
It has been twelve whole years since Reef last preformed anywhere in Australia and to set the record straight (yes, we are very punny here at Vulture Magazine) they will return in June for a national tour.
Known and noted for their activity and music during the 90s, Reef have become festival favourites at many UK festivals including Glastonbury and Reading.
Their debut album Replenish (1995) achieved gold status and catapulted the boys from Glastonbury from small gigs to touring with The Rolling Stones, Soundgarden and Paul Weller.
Reef’s second LP Glow (1997) topped the UK charts with the singles ‘Place Your Hands’ and ‘Come Back Brighter’ to name a few. Glow was followed just two years later by Reef’s third LP Rides (1999). With a sound like funk-rock meets britpop with a bit of psychedelia as a mistress, Reef immediately earned themselves a dedicated fan base both in the UK and internationally.
At the turn of the century, Reef started dedicating a bit more time to britpop into their already established sound and released Getaway (2000).
Reef have also released an anthology of all their releases to date which is full of those collectable goodies that true fans will value beyond life itself and others will appreciate for being such a solid collection.
REEF: ’93 – ’03 Ultimate Collectors Box Set is out now through Amazon and includes b-sides, rarities, previously unreleased material, a 64 page photo booklet, a 12” vinyl of their fifth album, a replica demo of the extremely rare Purple Tape sessions that started it all and so much more.
Reef will kick off their four Australian shows with a curtain raiser in Fremantle on June 1st, followed by shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and lucky last Sydney.
Tickets are available from each venues website and physical address.
