Photo Gallery: Mountain Sounds Festival

As we descended upon the outskirts of Gosford NSW to attend the second annual boutique music festival, Mountain Sounds, we really were unsure as what to make of it. Would it be like a dwarfed Falls Festival, or perhaps a snobbier Meredith. We just didn’t know, and now that it’s over, we are certain of what it is. It is a new dawn of music festivals for the Australian music lovers.

Mountain Sounds Festival is a one day festival that offers camping the night before and the night of, so you needn’t worry about getting to and from the venue should you decide to pitch your tent. Vulture arrived the day of however, and it we were so relieved to find it super easy to get in to and out of.

The crowd was a 4000 strong bunch of genuine music admirers and there was no cliques, no kerfuffles and no aggression. Just great food, a cosy construction of small stages and fucking awesome Aussie music. Headlining was the always babin’ Alison Wonderland, with others like The Kite String Tangle, Safia, The Griswolds, DZ Deathrays, Deep Sea Arcade, Kilter, Tkay Maidza and North East Party House to name a few. We even bumped into Kim Churchill who stopped in to catch a few sets!

Vulture went along to basically annoy everyone that we possibly could without getting ejected from the venue. Definitely succeeded.

Enjoy our little photo gallery. *thumbs up emoticon
