New Acts Announced For Dimensions Festival: Stiffies May Ensue

July 19, 2012 by Alex Mckinnon in Festivals, Latest News with 0 Comments

Remember the first time you tasted a sandwich with the crusts cut off, the first time you realised you could wear a backpack with only one strap, or even the first time you had sex without protection? When good stuff gets better, it’s always pretty memorable. It’s no different with this year’s Dimensions Festival. The Croatian fort-fest just gave their line-up a shitload of rare candy and turned it into an absolute beast. Nicolas Jaar, Addison Groove, Dusky, Jean Marie K and Marco Nastic! have been hyper-beamed onto the bill, arousing the Vulture Offices no-end.

Nicolas Jaar has been labelled one of the best up-and-coming minds in electronic music, but unlike Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man, he has no difficulty performing his Native Chilean Music in front of an audience. Addison Groove fuses elements from the Chicago Juke Scene and dub-step, into high energy, percussion fuelled performances with Rap inspired vocal loops. Joining them is Jean Marie K, when this Parisian DJ isn’t smashing baguettes and brie, he’s laying down some A-grade programming on electronic station FG DJ Radio. Dusky have landed a chance to play on Ibiza later this year and the duo will put on a teaser of that performance, which promises to make dry-humping feel like winning gold. Lastly, the Serbian DJ Marko Nastic! will join the party bringing to the table more experience than Hugh Grant’s prostitute.

There are still a few tickets flicking around the net and you can get your mits on a couple from the festival website dimensionsfestival.com.
