King Cannons ‘The Brightest Light’ Tour

King Cannons are gutsy, working class rock and roll personified. The New Zealand-born but Melbourne-based six-piece echo Bruce Springsteen, The Clash and, to make a more recent comparison, The Gaslight Anthem, and their uplifting blue collar anthems have been making massive waves on triple j over the last two years. And their facial tattoo to band member ratio is sky-high.

They recently released their monster debut album The Brightest Light, and given the strength of this and their previous releases, in the tradition of Crowded House, Kimbra and Russell Crowe, it surely won’t be too long before we Australians claim King Cannons as our own. The group is kicking off an international tour tonight in New Zealand, and then heading across the Tasman Sea for a bucketload of Australian shows.

Check out their official website for tour dates and ticket details, and take a gander at the video for title track ‘The Brightest Light’ below.
