IOWA Catch our Eye
IOWA, who on Monday released their latest single Panic Attack, apparently like the look of their sneakers.
Described as ‘shoegaze’, the lo-fi band draw from 90’s style guitar fuzz and raw vocals.
According to academic sources (Wikipedia), the term ‘shoegaze’ denotes a style of music where band members are emotionally removed, detached and downward looking….
“Shoegaze” also refers to the use of foot pedals to create distortion (what the elderly listeners like to call ‘noise.”) For IOWA, downward glances are important, but so is the intense and sometime frenetic energy that drives their songs.
Panic Attack is perfect driving music for a full car on the way to the beach- and we recommend looking at the road rather than your toes in this situation.
The psychic mandala, which decorates the upcoming album cover, also suggests an introspective, rather than downward pondering. Never Saw it Coming is the bands debut album, and is due for release in April this year.
