Groundation Announce Ragamuffin Sideshows in Australia

Reggae outfit Groundation are returning to Australia in February 2014. Following their performance in New Zealand at Ragamuffin Festival, Groundnation will play a series of special shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne with the support of French pro surfer Tom Frager.

Band leader Harrison Stafford says:

“We’ll be playing music from our seven studio releases, as well as new material for the first time, all focused on bringing people together to celebrate life and a recommitment to equality and love for all.”

It’s been two years since Groundation were on Australian shores with their unique brand of funk-infused reggae. The notoriously spiritual band says they can’t wait to return to Australia after their incredible experience at WOMADelaide and WOMAD NZ.

“We always gain so much both personally and musically by visiting and sharing with different people and cultures. This is what drives us to return to Australia,” says Stafford.

Since their debut release in 1999, Groundation have garnered an international following and high critical acclaim for both their studio recordings and live shows. Their high-energy, semi-improvised performances have seen them headline shows in over 35 countries across six continents.
