Friday 4:20, April 3

We know it. It’s a Friday arvo and you’re doing bugger all. Don’t you fucking lie to us. With that in mind, every week we’re going to offer you a new track to start your weekend off the right way, followed by some cool shit to do in the best city; Melbourne. People, the weekend is almost upon us. Crack a frothy, shut down your word document and crank this track. You bloody deserve it!

FRIDAY

4:20PM: Oh boy, it’s Easter weekend. Which means you have an extra day to fry your brain. You can start mentally preparing yourself by listening to Jamie XX’s new bangin tune ‘Gosh’. The British producer has now released three singles from his upcoming album In Colour and we can’t wait for it.

6PM: The Berlin producer/singer Fritz Kalkbrenner is back in Melbourne for a very special event: Good Friday at Brown Alley. The party will start, well, right now and finish tomorrow morning. Don’t miss out on Kalkbrenner’s minimal electronic beats and his soul-inspired voice. Heaps more DJs will be playing to keep you going all night.

SATURDAY

11AM: If you feel like having a little wander round the Melbourne streets, make sure you pass by Chapel St and have a look at the Art Town event. Many artists will be exposing their works, or even performing on the street. You can even download an Art Town walking tour here

9PM: We’ve been following Klo since their beautiful support set for SOHN at the Corner Hotel in January. The Melbourne duo will be supporting the local singer Banoffee at Howler in Brunswick. Both have released remarkable EPs last year and we are sure their minimalist electro-pop universes will mix perfectly.

SUNDAY

10PM: After announcing the first part of their November Festival’s line-up, Earthcore is offering a series of launch parties around the country with Juno Reactor and Grouch. They will be at the RMH venue this Sunday for a massive one. Lucky you don’t have to work the next day.

MONDAY

You party animal. You deserve a family day eating chocolate eggs. But if you’d rather go to the movies and have a look at the Comedy Film Festival at ACMI at Federation Square, that’s your call. Have a great one guys.
