Chance Waters Is Getting Busy
Sydney hip-hop artist Chance Waters (formerly Phatchance) had a big one last year. While lovers of dad-jokes everywhere mourned his name change, Waters got busy.
His second album Infinity debuted at #54 on the ARIA charts, his single ‘Maybe Tomorrow’ slotted in at #7 in rage’s 2012 Top Fifty, and he scored two places in triple j’s Hottest 100. He is hoping to back up the success of 2012 with an even bigger 2013 and he got off to a flying start by appearing at Sydney’s Big Day Out.
Now that he’s on a roll, he’s taking on a 19-date tour covering most of the country. He will begin the tour in his home town at The Standard on April 12. He has announced mid-April dates for Queensland and late-April shows for Melbourne and rural Victoria. May and June will see him tackle Adelaide, Tasmania, Canberra and Newcastle.
Waters can also be caught at a number of festivals in Queensland. He’s featured on a bill with Australian rock royalty Mental As Anything and The Choirboys at Caxton Street Festival. The youngsters can see him at Live It Up Festival in Brisbane where he’ll be sharing stages with Dune Rats, Pez and plenty more. He’ll also be at The Big Pineapple Festival on the Sunshine Coast with Birds of Tokyo, Regurgitator and a number of other big names.
