Call The Cops! Featuring Yacht Club DJs, DZ Deathrays and Bleeding Knees Club
Lock up your daughters – Three pairs of exceedingly talented young party starters will be tearing their way around the country this month as DZ Deathrays, Bleeding Knees Club and Yacht Club DJs join forces for the Call The Cops tour.
No track is too sacred, and no genre is left untouched as mash-up maestros Yacht Club DJs launch their skilfully mixed attack on the dancefloor. Their third and most recent mixtape, They Mostly Come At Night…Mostly saw them jet off on their biggest national tour to date, and they’ve appeared at festivals like Splendour In The Grass, Meredith Music Festival, Parklife and heaps more. Rugs everywhere can expect a hefty cutting as Yacht Club DJs provide a pop/rock/hip hop/dance/punk/old/new/slow/fast party like no others can.
Since exploding onto the scene via a houseparty a couple of years ago, DZ Deathrays have been assaulting eardrums with their thrashy brand of garage party pop. In the last six months they’ve turned heads in Europe, the US and Canada, and been labelled a band to watch by respectable international tastemakers like NME, BBC1 and Rolling Stone. Their long awaited debut album Bloodstreams was a standout release, and their clip for ‘No Sleep’, featuring funny guy Arj Barker, is a right laugh.
Rounding out the lineup will be young surf punkers Bleeding Knees Club. They’ll be playing tracks from their debut album ‘Nothing to Do’, which SPIN Magazine described as “two snots playing ’60s-inspired Brill Building pop with the joyous punk energy of millennials”. Have a listen to their new single ‘Girls Can Do Anything’, and then I dare you to try and tell us you don’t wanna check out their live show. Double dare. Triple dare. Whatever. Just do it.
This outrageous triple threat party crashes into Sydney and Melbourne next week before the Knees, The ‘Rays and the Club head to Byron to blow minds at Splendour in the Grass.
