Bloc Party Release New Single ‘Octopus’

Indie rockers Bloc Party have released their new single ‘Octopus’, the first from their upcoming fourth release, cleverly titled Four. After singer Kele Okereke’s lengthy exploration of dance music, which started with 2008’s Intimacy album and continued with his solo material, ‘Octopus’ marks a return to the bands guitar driven indie-rock roots.

Okereke wrote about the new album on his blog “i am very proud of it. it is the best thing that we have ever done and finishing this record has taken us on quite a journey.” That journey has included babies, members joining other bands, and breakup rumours that, thankfully, have turned out to be just that.

Australians will soon have one chance to see Bloc Party perform some new material as they play exclusively at Splendour in the Grass.
