Blink 182 Sort Of Announce 2013 Tour

July 11, 2012 by Jack in Artists, Latest News with 0 Comments

Blink 182‘s heavily tattooed drummer Travis Barker has confirmed via Instagram (Instagram is a news source now?) that the band will be touring Australia in February 2013 – sans himself. In a response to an Australian fan’s comment on a picture he posted of the band performing in the UK, Barker wrote ”Mark and Tom will be there in Feb of next year but with a full (sic) in drummer cause I don’t fly. Sorry brotha”. Barker’s already existing distaste for flying was exacerbated in 2009 when he survived a plane crash that left four others dead, and himself and collaborator DJ AM with second and third degree burns.

Although there is still no official announcement from either the Blink 182 camp or any Australian promoters, a February tour would put the pop-punkers in the country suspiciously close to the nationwide Soundwave Festival. Promoter AJ Maddah has been uncharacteristically quiet about the news, but is sure to let something fly on Twitter any minute now.

We’ll keep you posted.
