Bi-Continental artist Iamloveproof launches new single ‘Atacama’

After a pretty intense sporting career living and racing camels in the Middle East, L Tandy decided to change her career path to music. Iamloveproof is the brainchild of this bi continental artist, who for the last 14 years has notched up award-winning pop songs, Japanese and North American tours and numerous film credits.

It all started with her brother’s stolen guitar as she taught herself chords she couldn’t name and fashioned them into songs. From being able to barely play she went on to record tracks in a converted attic in Chicago and was even given a nod from Triple J as they named her winner of their Unearthed competition alongside Silverchair and Missy Higgins.

After living simultaneously in Canada and Australia, Iamloveproof is now back in her natural habitat the very picturesque and much loved Mornington Peninsula with her six piece band comprised of her family, childhood friends and musician heroes including megaharmony backing vocalists The Rankins.

With the influence of 90’s music, science, zines and pictures, the indie rock band is finally ready to unveil what they’ve been busy working on.

Dealing with themes of astronomy and mummification, ‘Atacama’ is the first of 12 songs Iamloveproof will release over the next two years, written after a long stint of writer’s block and viewing Patricio Guzman’s documentary masterpiece, Nostalgia de la Luz. Mixed by Darryl Neudorf (Neko Case, New Pornographers) the single was also featured as one of the finalist in the International Songwriting Competition, which Kimbra took out last year.

Armed with brand new singles, a film and zine project underway and a few gigs under their belt including a couple of supports for the Basics, Vulture is excited to announce Melbournians can get in on the action as Iamloveproof launch their single on Thursday 12th July at The Workers Club.
