3 Important Facts About World’s End Press

June 25, 2012 by Jack in Featured, New Music with 1 Comment

Here are three of the most important facts you’ll hear today.

1. Melbourne indie-disco-poppers World’s End Press are a band on the up and up (and up). Their previous two singles, ‘Only The Brave’ and ‘Golden Child’, and their EP Faithful garnered a lot of love from radio and some of the most influential blogs and magazines the world over.

2. They have just released their brand new single ‘Second Day Uptown’, which is the first taste of their debut album, due out later in the year. Recorded with Dan Whitford (of a little band called Cut Copy), the single is a driving, infectious piece of shimmering electro pop which, according to singer and guitarist John Parkinson, is about “living in the city, assimilating and forgetting who you used to be”. The Slow Hands remix of the track was featured on our weekly 5 Tracks You Gotta Hear feature, and you can listen to the original right here.

3. Their live shows are a sight to behold, with their talents honed on the stages of Splendour in the Grass, Falls, Laneway, Golden Plains, Southbound and the St Kilda Festival, and on bills shared with the likes of Primal Scream, Cut Copy, !!!, Little Red and Metronomy.

Your mission is to get your dancing pants on and go see World’s End Press when they tour around the country in support of ‘Second Day Uptown’. The Vulture will be rocking along with them at the Corner Hotel this Friday 29th, and the rest of the tour dates are below.
